Careful. Everyone will be trapping cats and sending them on a one way trip to venetta's place.

HI Nathan,
Even though I don't like to see any animal harmed....cats in your back yard at night time can be good for no one.
Rumor has it that my late father once had a problem with cats on his avairies....rumor also has it that a bowl of milk and a couple of asprin's put the pesty night stalkers to sleep....for a very long time....but you can't always believe rumors can you.
$2 solution sounds much better than a $200 alternative....cheers, Paul

How can you say you don't like to see any animal harmed and then pretty much suggest a way to kill them in such a manner that would cause vomiting blood, seizures, kidney and liver damage before going into a coma and dying???

GRRRRRRRR

Yeah either shoot the god awful things out right or trap them and send them to the RSPCA ...The %$@#&^ things should never have been allowed in this country .
Our wildlife isnt equipped for such predators ..

I had the same problem last year and started a post "Neighbours cat grrrrrrrrrr" which I posted on 18th July 2011. If you go to there you will see a multitude of ways, thoughts and suggestions on how to deal with neighbours cats. My neighbour was so helpfull and even attatched spikes to our adjoining fence to try and stop the cat from climbing, unfortunately to no avail. Unfortunately for him the cat went missing just before xmas and hasn't been seen since and I was really happy - I know that's really mean but it really was freaking out my birds. They used to let it out at 4am and it would find its way onto the top of my avairy and scare the living crap out of my gouldians. But I have just posted a story about rats killing 5 of my birds in one night and I have to wonder if the cat that caused me so much worry perhaps was also keeping the mice and rats away from the avairy!!!!

In fact owning a cat (male) will control mouse population on your property and keep other cats away from his territory, all you have do is teach him not to climb on top of the aviary. However, feral cats is completely different story!

All these posts are blaming an animal that is doing what comes naturally. It's the owners that I would like to hit with an electric fence or drop my mastiff guard dog in their yard and see if they complain when he upsets their lifestyle. As for the cat itself I don't own one that's my choice, I do have friends with cats and are responsible owners cats are desexed and well fed and locked inside of a night. I did have a feral cat issue but between trapping and shooting I have not seen one for a long while.
