New cat problem

Have a look on ebay for an electric fence for just over a $120 to buy. Then go down to the local produce store, Riverina Co-op or Southwest Stock feed, to grab some white tape and insulators. Ask the boys for advice on installing. Then wait to here the cat scream on a those cold frosty mornings.

See, me being a cat lover and owner think some of the people on this thread are awful-! As far as i am concerned it is the humans fault and not the cats fault-the cat is doing things out of instinct where as the owner should know better and keep their cats inside-too many people buy cats and dogs and so many other things and discard of them at pounds as if they are not worth anything... yes take the cat to the pound-most likely the owner will not even care to pay to get the cat out of the pound especially if they are leaving them free to roam, so you will all get your way and the cat will be put down by the pound-all due to human fault if you ask me.

So Goldelf, What would your solution be to this problem if you had it? Always willing to listen to workable humane options.

I would first approach neighbours to see if it was someone's cat and then explain the problem. If no one claimed it i would give it to a no kill rescue organisation who would rehome it it safely -rescue organisations do a good job of finding suitable and responsible homes. That is of course if it a domestic cat, if it is a feral cat then i do not have anything against euthanising feral cats as they destroy a lot of wildlife etc.

Maybe but cats are natural killers/survivors, I think if people have a license to keep dogs it should be same for cat people..And if they keep letting their precious moggy out well I reckon it is fair game for trapping and of to council....

I think we are starting to sound like real animal haters. Most of the things said may be illegal and if anyone gets caught can end up in the slammer! Cats can be a problem, but you can get around by getting a good dog, water gun, electric fence etc, don't go to extremes, cats can be good pets as well, and can be trained no to do lots of things. Also if you had a disexed cat it will protect his territory (aviary) from other cats.
Are you sure it was a cat? Might have been a Koala.

Humans are to blame , they let them into the country in the first place ...
A country that has never known a predator like a cat and thus is totally unable to defend it self ...

Cane toads , rabbits , foxes blah blah blah ..We not such a smart specie after all ...
