Gday Freddy,
Bet they are loving it outdoors now!
They should not moult when in Breeding condition I wouldnt think, mine are still going as we speak with their last batch. They are still super eager to nest even when I took the boxes out, nesting in the Painteds oval cane basket type nest. See how it goes I guess.
Whats with the fake grapes on the front Freddy?

Cheers Craig

Hi Craig,
I do understand a bit more now with putting the AY with a normal hen, Would i put it with a RH/PC/GB hen or can it be YH/PC/GB ??
As with the EY, would i put her to a YH/PC/GB cock ?? Which i have for her.
Ive read up on the genetic's and know a bit more now.
Thanks for the advice.
Cheers Freddy

G'day Freddy, the AY red headed cock you have is a nice looking bird so i would put him to a red headed purple breasted normal hen,not white breasted as the white breast in the AY mutation is different to the regular white breasted bird.
The EY white breasted hen, i would put her to a WB yellow headed normal cock.
Cheers Craig

Hi Craig,
I will do that, I have 2 RH/WB/GB hens, so i'll chase up a RH/PC/GB hen for " Ossie ''.
And with the EY hen i have a YH/WB/GB cock she can hookup with.
Thanks again.
Cheers Freddy.

I know this question may have been asked and answered 1000s of times but can anyone recommend some good reading for gouldian genetics?
I have an Australian yellow rooster and normal hen atm.

i agree with Misso, the book coupled with the many genetic calculators to a get visual of what the different colours can produce.

This one is quite informative, and having the pics to compare helps.
