Don't apologise Ruthie ..This is nothing new , not many of us dare challenge around here so I usually cop it for having an opinion...water off a ducks back . :D

I agree DNA is the only sure way however I use the string thingy usually as I said in conjunction with other factors like head size , colour etc for my own flock which I am not selling ..

And that is all folks ... bored with it all now .

My computer has been down for 10 days and the first topic I access is this one . .

I thought we had 'put it to bed' years ago

Instead of 'knocking' I probably should be selling magnets on strings for $25 to get some dough to pay for the 'puter

I knew that would keep you in suspence. If it lays an egg it is a hen, if there are only 2 birds of the same type and the eggs hatch the other one is a cock. Well...................you have to admit it is 100% fool proof. And I did get you going there for a bit. And it will not cost you anything but the patience to wait and see, which is a good life lesson for us all.

Yep. That can be a problem occassionally with the monomorphics. But hey as long as they are a pair I really am not too fussed. Watching for the cocks dance is also a pleasure. Just lightening the subject up a bit really.
