Rod you might as well hang an old rag in the tree,just crush some up and put it in a bowl.You can also crush up some cuttle bone with it and change it when it looks abit stale.
Putting large lumps of charcoal in your aviary works for a little while but it goes stale really quick by absorbing moisture etc. Craig

Thanks for the advice Craig! I have a 2-bowl swivel setup installed in one wall of the aviary, so I suspect I'll use one bowl for cuttlebone/charcoal, and the other for live foods. Methinks a trip to the beach is in order very soon, perhaps after the next storm!
