welcome, You have a good collection there, I see a few birds I wish we had here in Australia. Some we had in the past and didn't look after them, now they are lost to us. Others I could only dream of, as we will never see them here in Australia. Good luck and keep us posted on your successes. with your birds
I am interested in purchasing any of the more unusual Lonchura species and/or their subspecies. Particularly the Asian Munias or New Guinea Mannikins. If you have some and wish to sell them, PM me with the type, quantity and price
I will buy related or unrelated birds. I am also happy to organise and pay freight from anywhere in Australia.

Welcome to the Forum. What a beautiful collection of finches. Which do you breed in avaries and which in breeding cages?

Personally I wish I could breed all of them in aviaries, but I dont have the space. Mainly breed Australian species in cages. The Goulds, Owls, Diamonds ext ext they dont mind and will readily breed for me in the cages.finchbreeder wrote:Welcome to the Forum. What a beautiful collection of finches. Now most if not all my African finches are wild caugh heads. They are very flighty and need plenty of space and dense shrubbery/bushes to hide in and nest. With out the aviaries I dont think I could breed some of them. Even with the big space that I give them I sometimes have a hard time breeding them.

Here in Australia almost everything is bred in avairys. Accept Canarys and occassionally Gouldians. Though even those two are regularly bred in small 2x1x1 avairys/pair. So things are definately different.

you must list bird whisperer as one of your talents....
