LOL... I could of made a Fur coat by now ! Right in time for winter...

Just got up. There was a cat in front of one of my cages. Feathers everywhere.
1 Quail DEAD...!!!

UPDATE - 13 cats caught so far. Obviously a billion more to go...

some cats manage to escape the traps, learn to ignore them, and go back to your birds

Caught another two cats in one night !

Agreed, just keep trapping and take them to the pound.
I have done so with quite a few recently.
I actually don't mind cats but I only want my pets in my yard.

well, I have been breeding 3 years., first year I caught about 10 cats, once I had 3 cats in three nights.,...took them to the pound, most were strays. - wild cats - I have plastic clear over my cages so that when cats jump up they cant cling onto anything anyway, I also have a one foot high mesh / net on the top of my cage, that protrudes outwards so that birds and cats cant land on the roof...works well...in addition to the fight against vermin, we have porta flood lights - so when any vermin enter in the yard at night - it lights up,...we go out and chase...LOL..but the cat trap is the best.

That is ridiculous and unbelievable that you have to put up with these numbers of cats.

Hopefully it will ease up at some stage and your birds can have a restful night.

I must be extremely lucky (maybe I shouldn't say this) but I have never had a cat problem in all my years of bird keeping. Although perhaps it does have something to do with nearly always having a dog

Given the amount of cats in your area you might complain to the local Council, lay it on thick, get a few catless neighbours on side.

"cant sleep with them jumping about the roof and garden, makes mine and the local dogs bark, cats howling during mating, spitting and hissing at each other near my bedroom window when fighting, faeces in the garden, worried about health implications for children, grandchildren, friend's children (take your pick there) all of whom play in the garden"

I wasn't going to continue ranting, but what the hell I've now caught 20 cats in just under 12 weeks !
Between the Reserves, Golf Courses and halfwit neighbors, you're wasting you're breath. The staff at the local shelter trap cats themselves out of pity for the poor cats roaming around neglected ! They despise the council who deny there is a cat problem ! There is no curfew

You can't really blame people for doing what is allowed, and what has been the norm since the beginning. I love all animals, but when cats come onto your property, it's game on !

Depends how far you want to take it. The local press could be a friend, willing to take a snap or two each time you take a captured moggie into the local council meeting!
