I would say its in the "WHY BOTHER" basket more so than the "TOO HARD" one. I get the point but anything that attracts extra cost to a seller will usually result in it not being done (unless the bird is worth a bit of $$$$).

Buyer beware wins and I guess it could have just as easily been 5 hens and 2 cocks in your favor....

I purchased a white canary last week and blew the vent to tell that I have a hen...yep it was pointing the way I would have expected to see a hen point...short as sugar when I let it out of the transport box it sung its pinenuts off. Even the best of us screw it up. If I wasnt at a sale I would have waited for it so chirp and sing and that would have helped confirm or refute me thoughts on the sex.
