Hi jack are you going to give us a answer on what type of hybrid this bird is ,I am waiting for a long time for answer plus other mate.

So what is it? . It is alive. Maybe there will never be another bird like this. We may call it a mistake or crossbreed. It is not the birds fault, just ours.

If we knew what it was then we will be educated not to allow this again. Maybe we will never know but be aware of the possibility's of what it could be. Any educating on stopping hybridization is a good thing in my book.

Sorry,but just read this post,I don't have a clue what it is,as I said to Tom the day he took the pic the breeder didn't know either and because it had been out of his aviary for so long he couldn;t remember what aviary it came out of so he didn't know the possible crossings.I will talk to the breeder and try and refresh his memory but as it stands everyones guess is as good as others.(hope I made that as clear as mud)
P.S. this bird was not bred at the property is is held.

Rfpf x long tail ... the beak and head says parrot finch and the body says long tail ... the feathering could just be the result of the hybridisation
