hey greg, if u like i can send my tube down with the kids at easter if ur having trouble with it, u can use it to copy a few, then i"ll get it later, let me know

Thanks Pete i might take you up on that as it is a lot easier to copy then to make from a image.

no worries, when i can get onto my son and see what hes up to (on the bloody ph to some sheila) i will organise some grass and i will get him to take it down at easter when he heads back, catcha

That looks a nice set up but it definitely wont work without flies & I am afraid that at this time of year the only way you could get some is to get some maggots or pupae of some one else who breeds them...?
I was going to try to explain how to go about it but then I remembered Marcus Pollards article which is pretty good http://www.finchsociety.org/cfa/livefood/flies.htm
I really believe any finch breeder that is serious needs to feed maggots if a constant supply of white ants is not available.
