HOT WEATHER: KEEPING FINCHES COOL

I've learnt that a water supply attracts the snakes from the nearby bush.
Clearing round the avairys as I do every Spring, to make the area less attractive to the slithering pests.
Re Cooling, have added shade sails over the avairys since the big Cape lilac had to be pruned back after storm damage.
Already had a 39 degree Sunday and the canary hen panting by the water bowl.
