When one of mine lost a leg ring it had me confused for a while thinking it was a male but after checking the breeding records it could only be a hen. So she got her new leg ring.
Might have to think seriously about closed bands :roll:

Moving a few gouldians around this morning and this guy caught my eye. I did think that he was still going through his moult but when I looked closer they are white/cream feathers

He is from a YH PC GB cock x RH PC GB hen
All the other young from this pairing are normal looking.

The last of the Gouldians i got from Chris/Finchers dad has coloured up. It is a cock, and is already blowing it's head feathers and singing. So you did a pretty good job of sexing them Chris 6 out of 7 right. This is the only one you got wrong.

thats good then finchbreeder so it was 3prs 1 hen then or wat was the end ratio

Has anyone ever seen white/cream head feathers in a gouldian? see above.

My guess is it didn't moult completely and the cream coloured feathers will disappear next moult.

looks like the juivnile feathers to me, should lose those feathers next molt! was he hatched later in the yr by any chance??
