I've thought about painteds, but my mum doesn't like them because of their long pointy beak.
I'm thinking plumheads and/or auroras.

Every time I lose a bird I maddly examine all the others for signs of illness. Fortunately I don't usually find any. But remember Jay what it feels like when you first see a new fledgeling.
It's an exilirating hobby too.

I noticed that is was missing about 8 of it's tail feathers, and there were just the tips/studs/whatever sticking out of it's bum
That's really gotta hurt.

Ive got 1 pair of plumheads jay and there the sweetest birds. Never show any agro at all. Mine are just starting to look like they may breed. Ive had them for about 7 months now. Great comunity bird. Apparently easy to breed also but mine aint doing it hehe.
