I have a canvas blind on one side of my aviary. I roll it down at night and up in the am unless its going to be really windy and wet then it stays down all day.

Welcome,
Just like you I recently joind the AFF so I could chat with like mined Finch (& bird) lovers.
I have had finches now for about 12 months. Prior to purchasing my birds I read anything I could that had anything to do with Finches.
I was always looking throught the bird mags at the newsagents. Now I have this Forum which is reaqlly good for info and advice from posts that I have read.
They certainly are wonderful little birds and full of energy.
Good luck with making your selection as there are many types of Finches available.

Thanks Ron, have made lots of progress since that first post. have the aviary up and running with 2 OBs, 2 yellow stars and 4DB. the stars are nesting so exciting times ahead! What finches do you have? Welcome to AFF. I am finding it an invaluable source of information and advice, as well as an opportunity to share the interest with others.
