Hopefully the Convention will still be going ahead after all that flooding. Only three months to go.
I hope they have a raffle or maybe an auction of birds to raise money with the proceeds going to finch breeders who lost birds and aviaries, that kind of thing.
Maybe by the time the convention comes around those unfortunate souls will have their homes a bit more sorted out and can start to think about rebuilding their hobby.

It will go ahead as there has been too much money outlayed.
Many years ago (1983)they had an AFA convention in Brisbane and it was advertised as Birds in ther Sun You guess it, it poured rain the whole time and it had a name change Birds in the Rain.
By the time the convention comes around they will have it under control. maybe not the aviary visits, but the rest should be ok.
Those that are going should reconfirm their hotel/motel bookings in a few weeks though.
I am interested in who is going from the forum,if you can post it would be good
I am going and so is Jayburd

It may be better to wait for a couple of days. Even if they didn't get water in their home
I am sure that they most likely had relatives or friend that did.
It will be those with hotel res. that may have the problem.
