It was the first sale I have been too, so it was great for me..

I thought there was quite a few Gouldians, although by the time I got the hang of what happens at a sale, most of them were sold.. I bought one Red head cock..
Also quite a few Cordon's (bought a pair) and a few Blue Caps, a handfull of stars. Plenty of other types that were snapped up quick.. I thought at one stage the drive from Wollongong was going to have me returning with an empty cage..

But I had a good time, and actually met up with an old mate I went to school with who I hadnt seen for years, who is a member of the Canberra Club.. So that was good..

you know Jay one thing that I noticed attending a bird sale last week for the first time anywhere.. is that you have to be very quick with your purchase. Or do some homework beforehand.
I lined up with every other cage carrying person only to when the curtain was pulled across to be in a scene only to be rivalled by a David Jones or Myer post Xmas sale.. I would have liked to had a look around before hand, made my mind up what I wanted and went straight to the seller..

I was swept up in the rush..

Anyway, looks like I need to plan better next time...

How right you are. I always thought bird keeping was a sedate hobby, its more like a contact sport when the ropes fall on the sale, what with elbows, shoulders and carry boxes.
