My babies can fit through the small finch wire and yes they love water but cant swim marbles in a container works for me for water .

Yes, i have a dominant male quail that recently attacked the bejesus out of another male quail that somehow ( still cant find how ! ) got into the aviary adjoining. Poor little guy - i nursed him back to health but it took a while. He had holes in the back of his neck and everything. But males are very territorial. This one male has three females all of his own !! And the marbles in the water dish is an ingenious idea - dont know HOW many young i have lost to drowning. Thats one snippet of info i will be trying next time i have some young. Cheers.
