It is worth noting that whilst Milk thistle extracts are shown to have some benefits, none of us are feed this milk thistle to our birds. The species we invariably feed is Sonchus arvensis, the perrenial sow thistle which has no medicinal properties at all. The Milk thistle from which the homeopathic products are derived is Silybum marinarum, the variegated milk thistle- a ghastly prickly evil plant that nobody would ever pick, let alone try and feed to something.
