Hi everyone,

I'm currently feeding my gouldians panic & veldt but saw this grasses. Are they ok to give to mix it up for them a bit?

Nat l have fed both those to my finches, the first one i call helicopter grass and and i have just seen pics of wild Blue face parrot finches feeding on it.The second one is a type of millet looking seed from a flat growing grass.
If it tastes bitter to them and they have other choices they wont eat it anyway. Craig

I'll try them on the helicopter grass first.
The first pic and last pic looked like different types of grasses. What do you think?

When I put helicopter grass into google it looks like either
eleusine indica or digitaria ciliaris
One of the experts might know

From top to bottom they are Parramatta Grass, Rhodes Grass, Summer Grass & Wild millet.
They are all decent finch grasses with summer grass & wild millet being the best.

Its always a good idea to give a variety of grass seed heads. Within reason you can do no wrong. No grass seeds that I know of are poisonous. Some are more useful than others but all are good provided they are clean from pesticides or fungus + a variety provides a more complete diet.
