We recently bought a packet of finch crumbles, I haven't been able to sit there and watch them yet, but the kakarikis went straight for it and started gulping it down like nothing else! One of the king quails just saw it as some kind of dirt and went and sat in it

We decided to go for the vetafarm pellets, instead of the Passwells, since it was cheaper, but my gosh, even a 2kg bag I think cost around $34!!!
I've been looking on the Vetafarm site, and have found this: http://www.vetafarm.com.au/products/INS ... 2dPRO.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
What is your idea of a insectivore pellet diet instead of the real thing? I have heard of some birds chucking their chicks out of the nest if they don't get their daily live food, and we are unable to get home as early as we like to provide it all for them. Would this kind of food (obviously not ALWAYS being used instead of the live food) prevent birds from doing this?
