I went to Uni here in SA as a mature age student around 1990 at about 35 yeas old, loved it. Just had to sit the mature age entry exam, I got credit for previous study, even stuff from as far back as high school.

Either you end up rich or you get free food and lodgings for a few years. Were's the downside?

I'm still little so does that mean I haven't grown up? :think: My kids say yes. :lol:
Well first I wanted to be a Princess, then I figured there were limited opportunities and a shortage of inteligent Princes. :silent: So decided to opt for Zoolagist. But between living 500ks from the nearest uni and being the eldest of 5 country kids, and a bit lazy. That got put on the back burner. So I did Business studies on a Govt. Scholarship designed for smart kids without money. And after a couple of short term office jobs drifted into the offices of a local electrical contractor, where I did almost everything for many years. Before retiring to parenthood at 30 and our own small rental (housing) business. Which I still do round being a part time Research interviewer. Hubby says I am semi retired, maybe I am sometimes.

Dad bought me my first Zebbies when I was 8, by 10 I had Masks, Dbars, Ltails(we called them Blackhearts) and for show and tell I took to school a pair of Chestnuts which, after 1 bit me I let him go in the classroom and took along time for me and a classroom full of laughing kids to get him back...by then I knew I was going to be an ornithologist :) Inspired by Klaus Immelmann. Science took over and I found electronics and became an electronics tech, still keeping finches but started to work more and more away from home, (family home). When I moved out party was no1 and I neglected my birds somewhate and I became disinterested for some years, after getting my A-grade electrical license and my own place I started getting back into finches, alot had changed in the few years of absence let me tell ya! Still working up north WA a fair bit, changed jobs and I always miss my birds when I am away but I have a lovely birdkeeper helping in my absence :wave:

Thinking about doing a little photography business on the side but there is a lot of good competition these days and Perth isnt really crying out for it...

When I grow up....

It would be a hard descion between being a;

- dog behaviourist
- avian vet
- jornalist for ABK

or

an Author

But If I can manage it, all four!

As a kid, I went through stages of wanting to be a Vet, then a Park Ranger before finally settling on Zookeeper. Am very close to achieving that goal now. ;-)
