:( :( that's a real shame, Deb. hope the others do really well. I had an ant attack today as well - I found my male Tri Colour Parrot Finch dead in the nest half eaten by ants - I swear I saw him this morning! didn't have time to do the usual every-bird check, but I'm sure I saw him when I was filling the water bowl :(

Thats no good Jay  I havent seen ants for a while else I would have sprayed , the humidity today must have them out and about as the Lorikeets Aviaries were heavily infested too .

That's a shame for both of you. :(
I think I will get the Coopex out and do my aviaries too, as I saw a bit more ant activity than normal in the garden yesterday....no where near the aviaries...yet.

I made mine up to the strongest reccommended dose of 25g to 2.5 litres . Left a powdery residue where I sprayed so maybe a bit strong , anyhoo the birds are fine and the ants are gone and to my surprise a few dead cockroaches outside one of the aviaries .
With these impending storms stirring up ant populations I dont think it hurt to hit the aviaries with the strong mix however I dont think I will do it again , worried too much over it .

It is suppose to be residual . It should last quite a while however I wouldnt be spraying if its going to rain soon after spraying .
My last spray was before winter so thats not bad going .

Deb if you are getting Normal, Silver and Cinnamon from 1 pair then both parents must be split for both Silver and Cinnamon. So you normal chicks could be. Normal, Normal split silver, Norman split cinnamon, Normal split both. Like Lotto, you have no idea what you will get. And your Silvers and Cinnamons may be pure or split. :shifty:
