Thanks canary

As i said we where buying the egg mix from the local pet store and mixing it with the seed i now know it was wrong,i should have given it in a seperate container.I have been keepinf the egg mix outside in a cupboard i should have keeped it in the fridge....
I will be throwing the egg mix out tomorrow and removing all egg mix from cabinets an avairy.

I'm with Canary on this one. Nothing wrong with the hen as she got a chick to fledged. More likely a combination of young hen not liking all the attention and feeding not matching her needs. We all learn and adapt. When I had larger quantities of canaries and less finches I fed the egg and biscuit as Canary does. Now I have less canaries and more finches. Mine raise almost completely on greens. Fresh greens morning and afternoon can work just fine. Try different things and see what works for you. And chin up. It's not always easy, but it;s always an adventure.
