We've had some clear warm weather ( its been beautifull actually) and these little guys have had 10 days medication. Easter Sunday saw their realease back into the aviary. I was pretty happy with the result , they look much more sprightly and tight feathered. Only 1 seems still a bit inactive and not as bouncy, done all in can.

I think next time i order species prone to stress ill be likeing to make sure the wet season up here is finished, i rekon that might make life much easier.

Hopefully my next post on white eared masks is about questions in breeding.Thanks for the help guys.

I'm certainly no expert but isn't doxycycline the drug usually prescribed to treat psittacosis? And if psittacosis is the suspected disease then I think an extended course of doxycycline for a month or more may be in order. But this is just my recollection and may well be totally wrong.

Nowadays the only antibiotics I keep and give to my birds is "Triple C" apparently three types of antibiotics in one. Doxycycine I think is gram negative, does anyone know can "Triple C" be used to cure Psittacosis. On couple occasions I had a bird with Psittacosis and both times the Vet gave me Doxycycline but the bird didn't live long, I was never successful in curing this disease, and I always see one of the best bird Vets in Sydney. I still think once the birds goes over the "certain point" it would need 24 hours Vet's attention to cure it, Psittacisis is not easy to cure.
