Yesteryear, Gouldians were also known as "The Heart Breaker",it still applies today, it almost breaks your Heart when you inspect a Nesting box and find all youngsters are dead, despite their Crops bulging at the seams with seed, it comes about because the youngsters could not sustain sufficiant body warmth and became so cold and stiff that they could not Digest their food and died.
There are very effective Solutions to the problem, I am sure some one will write a few lines on the subject before too long, I must confess this Season I have lost only one youngster while still in the nest, unfortunatly he was the only youngster, no Brothers and Sisters to keep him warm.
