What about the blue variety which can be found in numbers on the Gold Coast in winter

It's been a few years, but I recall with some fondness quite a few of those. I did try a few pairs in my youth and even considered a colony at one time. Through much trial and error I eventually discovered they behave much better when kept as a single pair.

I was offered a pair years ago, that had just come off a plane from overseas. They were a very young pair and even though they came with a free cat, I declined the offer because they were not really what I was interested in and because of a possible gaol sentence pertaining to their age and origins. I hear they were confiscated by an elderly gentleman from Customs and I don't know what happened to them after that.

some of our more experienced members are showing there age again....
from my modest experience its not the purchase price but the ongoing upkeep thats prohibitive.
trying to maintain a fit, virulent strain over time will test your resources like no other species.
housing them, keeping them content and productive....i could go on.
a challenge if ever there was one....but one i can recommend to all those determined to diversify the gene pool!
