I recently received this email about the Wyndam area.

"Next day onward to Halls Creek and to a place called Parry Creek farm near Wyndham. We lucked out here. Lovely shady spot beside a Billabong. When we saw the alternatives in Wyndham the next day we were sooo glad we picked this place.

We went out to the billabong on parry nature reserve twice. Saw about 80-100 Pictorella Mannikins and virtually every water bird in northern Australia. The sign said no swimming. The water looked pretty average but the sight of a large croc ( 4-5 m) basking on the bank sealed that deal.

Wyndham is an absolute dump. If its not worst place I've been to, its certainly a contender. The place looks like it was built in ww2 and hasn't been painted since. To top it off its surrounded by mud flats and mangroves Very attractive??"

What that email says is absolutely true,no fishing,no palm trees,no beach BUT it is probably the best place to see all the Northern species of finches that we keep in our aviaries in massive numbers.I can't wait to share the pics as most will be astonished with what swarms into these little puddles to have a drink first thing in the morning.
