Sexing An Egg.....

You would think it would be quicker, cheaper, and easier to pick up an egg, look at it then throw it over your shoulder if it's a male egg rather than letting it take up space in an incubator, hatching it then euthanasing it.

Hard to believe I'm sorry Blujay...no reason why they cant sex eggs your way in the incubator if they have too...was looking it up on different areas on net...and there has been no scientific proof that it works...maybe you need to show them hows its done?

Hi GaryH, I went out and disturbed one of my canary hens, to get picture of her eggs. Easier for me to explain this way. Sorry, don't have Gouldian eggs yet as they're just finishing their molt.
Look at this clutch of eggs:

Study the shape of the eggs. If all these eggs hatch there will be two hens and three cock birds.
The left top two eggs are hens. The other three will be cocks. Look at the shape of your Gouldian eggs and apply the shapes on pic to them. Regards.
