How can you say the musks are scary Deb, she who wants to be obeyed here has her musks sit within a metre of her. hopefully it isnt to long and they will sit on the food dish when she holds it out to them.

Sure you've got a pair there Mick. I trained mine to eat from my hand with sultanas. Once they started breeding you couldn't stop them.

Scary as in staring me in the eyes when I enter the aviary then actually flying in to me in an attempt to rip my eyes out ....

Must admit since putting them into a suspended they are much nicer little birds however I have been warned that the blood lust will return when breeding kicks in.

Out of all my parrots they are the only ones to act like this , the others dont even move when I go into the aviary's and my Quarrion still land on me for cuddles .

Thanks Mickp I hope they do well too , they appear to be going through the motions of breeding so fingers crossed.

VR this is one (supposed) pair of birds that I have no idea about.
All I did was build the shadehouse that is now the musks home.
Any easy indicators to look out for when sexing these guys?

I've kept Musks for about 20 years, they are always very friendly but can be nippy if you try to look into the nest with eggs or young. My old pair are at least 18 years old and are still nesting from July to January every year. They used to produce 2 young in 3 clutches every year but now only one per clutch or both eggs infertile so I guess they have earned their keep.

Is all good Mickp , its handy to know who has what sometimes . Poor VR1 cops all my Lorikeet questions , with good answers too . I think Ive even annoyed Tintola with the odd question .
