I hope people don't get confused between Harvey11 and Harvey123456789.

All is not bad as mentioned earlier the questions asked have got some good reasoning for others to learn from.
It is easier for older people to heed what is being told to them.Youth is a completely different ball game. The world is their oyster, they are atomic bomb proof and they can do anything they wish, well at least that is what they think.
Now stop and think about another youth we have still in our fold,Jayburd. The disasters he had and the problems, not his doing, well maybe.
It took us nearly 6 months to get him on the right track and now he is on the way to be a responsible aviculturalist.
We need to give them some slack but keep chipping away and eventually we will get through to the youth and begginers as they are our hobby's future.

Eorix well stated, I know what that youths want everything and want it now and don't take advice as the older generation would as most younger people will always learn the hard way just like myself. Brett don't worry I believe everyone knows the two different Harvey's.

That's a bit harsh, lumping all young people together. I teach lab practical classes at La Trobe University, and it really is a mixed bag. Some of the students have absolutely no respect (to the point of answering their mobiles while I am trying to explain things), while others listen attentively and ask sensible questions. While usually it is the mature students that work the hardest and are the most involved, I have also had 40 year olds who refuse to listen to me because I'm 26, and they believe they know better, and they end up messing up their experiments.E Orix wrote:All is not bad as mentioned earlier the questions asked have got some good reasoning for others to learn from.

The enthusiasm of youth is a great thing. I can remember wishing I had a 100 acre bird farm with all species known in captivity. As I get older I find myself keeping fewer species each year & gaining more enjoyment, success & learning from doing so. Stay keen Harvey & still aspire to keeping other stuff in future but take things one step at time & you'll go well.

i work full time and grow most my own millets and veggies and fruit so i save money and make money, most money i get of birds go straite back into them .
im very excited about soft bills i might just wait a few more years until im ready and have a better experince , ill just keep working on zebra mutation and reqular finches breeding ,
i am quite the person to rush into thing , i see a bird i like and i pritty much have it ,thats why i may seem a tad into everything ect ,and for that im sorry
to the fourm mebers who belive i breed for money you are very incorect
i spend most money on food for my birds as the all get live food, fresh greens, fresh soft food ,fresh egg n bix mix, basic finch mix, herb seeds , taste of africa, grits ,cuttlebones, charcoal and millets my birds are fed quite well .Every Finch Gets This From Zebras to Blue caps,
no matter what the bird they still need a good diet , as many people say you only get out that you put in with your birds,
as for harvey11 i hope we dont get mixed up with him because i dont want him to mistaknly hate like most of the fellow fourm member hate me .
dont know if ill stick around on this fourm but i end up seen everyone around at sales and shows.
thanks
jake
