I through all my waste seed into a garden and they have grown and have sprouted seed heads which i feed to them as well.

Wish I could see into my gould nests that easy. All mine tend to build theirs with a complete hood over the top. Think I might restrict the amount of nesting material in future.

It Grows quickly and a good fresh source of seeded grass.

Here is a update on the baby gouldian , he not far of taking a look around outside the nest, sorry for the poor pics.

have never known gouldians to eat much livefood if any. the only times my gouldians will touch livefood is the very rare occasion that I manage to get some termites. green seed though is a different matter, the gouldians are always the first to find & start eating it and the last to leave

Even the other finches won't even touch the meal worms, i think its just a matter of time.

I do the same throw all me winowed seed in the paddock for the wild birds.What they miss grows and heads,Mainly the jap will grow.
