The male (child) with the two females could go back in the same cage as long as the size is enough for all of them together. Also be aware that the males may start squabbling especially if you are introducing a new male into an established males territory, whether its the pairs son or not they might not like it.
Might be a good idea to arrange the new holding cage and put them all in at the same time. Everyone is in neutral territory then.
With regard to taking the finches with you and getting another one. You might want consider keeping the new finch in quarantine for a while before putting it with your birds. You never know what the new birds might have in the way of worms or diseases which could affect your birds. At least if you keep the new bird separate for a while you can see how the new bird seems healthwise and start your preventative treatments before introducing it to your birds.
What to do when the cats hate you....

right okay. so here is my plan. im taking the parents out of the aviary and then rearranging the aviary. put them all together in the one aviary. Go to the city then come back with one finch to even the numbers and then i think i will take the three, i put in the aviary, out. Or should i reverse it; Have the parents in the small cage and the three(plus the new one) in the big aviary.

Biggest space = larger number of birds
smaller space = smallest number of birds
smaller space = smallest number of birds
