Good advice from Shox on what and how many to keep .
As far as quaranteen cages go , my other has built me box type cages from melamine.
They are built to fit the large store bought cage fronts .
To me the birds feel secure in them , draught proof and easy to clean .

Not the small carry boxes of course . And check that they are finch wire and not budgie which is a bit wide for the smaller finches.

Ok cool Thanks, selling up most of my birds (6 pairs of zebras , 1 pair of bengolese mannikans, 1 pair of star finches and 3 gouldians) should get me unuff money to buy 1 blue faced parrot finch,1 pair of painted finches and 2 pairs of double bar finches then the finches I have in my aviary will be 2 pairs of gouldians, 2 pairs of double bars , 1 pair of Blue Faced parrot finches and one pair of painted finches.
