I could get Little button quails aswell as Stubble quails becouse I have multipal aviarys.

good but littles need lots of ground cover (shouldn't be a problem), and they cost $120/pr DX

If I never had growing grass in the aviaries I used to use dried grass clumps (pull up clumps of green panic and hang them upside down on the closeline until they dry - takes a week or two but they don't wilt when you turn them right side up.) - put them in a corner in close proximity - just bury the roots back in the soil, trim off the tops and you have your own mini stubble field. This is where they nested. Works well for most quail as well as squatter and flock pigeons.

I have a well planted aviary,
I will plant some native grasses for them.

wow, i can't believe so few of you have eaten quail! bot th ebird and its eggs are very common in asian cuisines. i had always assumed that the eating kind was the domesticated common quail - although like i said i though it was one and the same as the "japanese".

i got something different - californians. gorgeous birds and they settled rather well, but i hate the flightiness of the male. he positively annoys the hell outta me if anyone other than myself go in the aviary or if i make sudden movements. incidentally they are for sale, or swap or anything anyone offers me...;)

couldn't eat a quail. weird, because I love chicken, lamb and beef.
Just couldn't do it.

On the BBQ is my favourite for quail & pheasant
