Exactly my point ..things changed in the family dynamics and who gets shafted ? The bird .

Nathan why do you want a hand reared bird ?

Deb,
I have had a hand reared bird all my life and I don’t have one now so I wont to get an exotic hand reared parrot.
Any suggestions ???.

Thanks Nathan

Nathan,

I know you are looking for a pet bird for indoors, but do me a favour & tell me what you currently have outside & what size aviaries they are in.

What do you mean by Nathan Morley’s problems why do you think I have problems?.
your problem nathan (for the millionth time) is that you do not accept answers you do not like! unanimously here you have been advised that getting a hand reared "exotic" parrot is probably not a good idea for you right now. but instead you then ask...

So what type of hand raised parrot do you think that I should get?.
and then this.....

and finally just to drive it home....

the best exotic parrot for you is probably the one your father sold. the alexandrine. this is because it was the bird that you and or your father had already committed yourselves to, only to shirk that commitment once it became inconvenient.

Hey Nathan, many of these parrots make great pets but its like having a small child forever. Things change and its hard to gaurantee the bird will have your attention for years to come. My suggestion would be get a pet budgie or stick with your finches. If not given the right environment these birds end up really stressed and not good pets at all.Its a bit like neglecting or dumping a 3 year old kid, not really fair unless your dad is happy to have the bird for 20 plus years.I have my dads corella and she is about 20 years old.

Yeah now I have that guilty thing happening as I always seem to do when I say something that dissapoints you Nathan .

There is no exotic bird suitable for your situation mate . And I doubt any one will say different .

Sorry mate .
