There would have been a worldwide market, except that the incidence of PBFD in parrots in the US and Europe has dropped to nearly zero since they stopped importing legally wild-caught birds from overseas. Now it remains endemic mainly in budgies & lovebirds there.
They have bigger fish to fry over there like Proventricular Dilatation Disease (macaw wasting Disease) etc

I'm sure all release birds would be thoroughly screened before release and any potential health risks they might pose to the wild population would be carefully considered.

I would almost be certain that if it weren't for bird breeder's, lots more would be indangered. It is the person fancy that saves them. Thank goodness PETA isn't in Australia!
