With weather like that I can understand you and the birds all being a bit chilled. Apart from draght proofing and lots of tucker, there is not much else you can do to weather proof them.

I put 3 pairs of Gouldians into my out door Aviary last Spring as an experiment. Despite several days of minus degrees this winter, I now have 17 Gouldians flying around. The last clutch was in July.b My only shelter is a sheet of Fibre Glass across the width of the Aviary so the birds have to fly under and up to perch at night in the foliage or perches.I am situated in Victoria
not too far from Ballarat.

Not so much from cold, but old age, I think my old normal Scallie hen will be dead by morning, when I feed her this arvo, her wings were dropping, breast bone a little thin (easy to see because she hasn't got a feather from beak to arse), slightly dirty vent, and just not willing to get out of the way. Can't complain though, 16 years old and around 8-10 young a year with out fail, she's been a good hen, will be sad to see her go.
