This morning I went out to the aviary to throw out the zebra eggs as I went to do this I sure a baby zebra dead in the nest . I took him out of the nest and left the other 2 eggs in just in case they hatch. I was surprise to see one baby in there as the zebrs haven't set in the nest for a least a week. The dead one that I found in the nest is still soft so it would of hatch maybe last night or on Friday.

What do you guys think I should do leave the 2eggs in there and see if they hatch or take them out cause I am sure that the parents wont set back in there and look after them.

Sorry to hear the bad news Steven, are the other eggs fertile, you might be able to foster them out if your not sure.

Hey Greg I am not sure if the other eggs are fertile. I left them in the zebs nest and will check them out tomorrow and see if any have hatch. If they do not sure sure if the parents are going to feed them.

They would be dark to look through if there fertile, if there clear to look through well then there infertile.

Yeah they are a bit dark inside the egg that's why I am going to keep the eggs and see what happens.

it sucks when you find a dead finch cos 9 times out of 10 you will never know wy it happened.
good luck with the remaining eggs
