For commercial purposes is illegal only, those guys do not hybridize and they do not breed mutations, they are not into "yellow back, white belly, intensive .*., Blue back, albino etc! There is a big difference between the two! :mrgreen:

last live bird to be seen on recored was in 1927 but who knows might be out there some were

Just came across an interesting old article with some firsthand observations of the paradise parrot.

What a great read. Beautifully written. He certainly was devoted to the plight of the Paradise Parrot and I think he hit the nail on the head as to the reasons for their demise.......Us! One can only hope that his wish for them to return may eventuate, highly unlikely but one can still dream.

Brilliant read and fantastic find Matty!

I particularly love the references to the cock bird as lord e.g. "In answer, as it seemed, to her lord’s reassuring word, the female alighted on the summit of the mound." - If only my wife had such respect for me!

Wouldnt it be awasome if there were Paradise Parrots left ? Just hope humans never find them else it would be there demise for sure :thumbdown:

Just watched the hunter ...thought it would have a happier ending ...
