what next part 2

So in one of my recent posts I asked the question "bloody hell what next"

Well it didnt take long to find out what was next , 24 hours to be exact ...

Anyhoo Thursday afternoon we needed to duck down the street , the usual routine , shake the car keys and open the car door for the girls to get in only this time the Sausage dog (Tara) didnt want to get in .

Most unusual so watched her as we drove , she was salivation quite badly and shaking all over so we pulled up to check her only to find that she was paralysed in the back legs .

Straight to the vet to find out she has a prolapsed disc ...bloody hell saddest thing in the world to see your little dog dragging her legs trying to move about and in pain. Even had the other half in tears .

So next hurdle was whether she had control over her bladder and bowels ...waiting , waiting and very anxious .

Happy to say she can still pee and poop although difficult with no legs to hold her up and as of this morning she is able to get up on very wobbly legs and move about .

Now 6 weeks of confinement ( cage ) and medication , carrying her about and lots of cuddles.

So thats my sad story , wish us luck for a happy ending , Im confident she will recover although the bank account may not

On a happier note my little Quarrion that suffered the fractured shoulder and has the funky leg and cocci is looking really good

I wouldnt want to be one of them either , poor little buggers however we did suspect Tara would have problems after her past owners neglect and abuse .

As for the Quarrion , keeping positive by telling myself 1 out of roughly 70 birds and after many years of keeping them isnt quite so bad .

Deb,

Had that condition myself in 92 and 93. Had surgery for same. Feel sorry for her, pain is unbeleivable. Give her my best. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
