Having never bred OB's before is it normal for the parent birds to continue sitting in the nest a week or two after the eggs should have hatched.Im concerned because i cannot hear a sound coming from the nest and i have noticed with other species such as zebs that the parents leave the nest only to return to feed.
Hope its not a failure.

they may have started again and built over the top of the existing eggs?

I've had babies of a few species fledge without knowing they were even nesting. Best to just wait and see. Some birds are very secretive, and young can be very quiet. Most young only audibly beg at about 7 days old (and even then only quietly), so there may be some in there that you just can't hear yet. Good luck, and remember, patience is a virtue!!

Hey Spanna you're right.A little patience is needed.I just want a successful outcome as a lot of effort has gone into my birds catering for their every need.
Thanks for the advice.
Heres hoping that i see young Cordons and OB,s in the next week.Ill keep you all posted.
