Looks great Harvey. At least they are using the house you spent time making for them.

No worries Harvey. Did you end up getting normal coloured quails?

Just make sure there isn't too much water in that dish when the chicks come along.

Yes ian i think there normals, the male has a nice red colour in his feathers.
I will try to get pics, they are still a bit shy and go back to the house when i go near the avairy. They just need time to settle in.
I got them from Johns and i got the water dish from him

You should have no problem breeding them...In one aviary I run 5 hens with 1 cockbird. Last nest that hatched was all the 17 eggs the hen was sitting on, before that was another nest of 17 =7 hatched. Another 2 hens are on eggs atm, one is on 7, not sure about the other one.

 I just got another 11 from the girl that raised 11 of the 13 from the last clutch . When they breed they certainly breed . Have fun with them Harv . I love fuzzy quail cuddles when they are little .

At work we just hatched fourteen bobwhites from one nest, a king quail on seven eggs another bobwhite on eight eggs and a californian on seventeen. Quite the year for quails!!

Greens and mealworms, they usually do the rest.
