Now I have a bit of a dilema. I have managed to produce a white cheatsed male gouldian from whats supposedly are pure normals. the big problem also being that there are 3 possibilities of the parentage, all from differant breeders and this silly begger didnt tag the birds, either the young or the parents.
My question is are there any visual differances in the split that may be noticeable so I can acertain ( big word for me) who the parents maybe.....pete

When you find a visual to splits let me know! LOL
Afraid I don't think there is a way to tell except through seeing the progeny. If I recall any bird bred to a white breasted will have young split to WB. I think that makes it a little easier than some mutations which may have 50% of the young split and the rest not.

Yeah, we made sure we got a good couple of leg ring packets at the auction
It's a shame you never really know what you are getting anymore!!

might have to test-mate the leading suspects mate. Put each of them to a WB mate and if they produce WB offspring, you will know they're splits...

I am with madhatter, get hold of some WB to put to the PB. That is what i am doing this season with a couple of Blues that are WB but came from PB pair. Good Luck
