I have observed these birds in the wild in the Tabelands area behind Cairns. They appear to be different from the ones i commonly kept and bred. They appear to be more intense in the blue mask and to be slightly larger, from observing them. Due to the fact these birds are very illusive and hard to find i often wonder if the early trappers actually came out of there way for a bird in such rugged and remote jungle areas. Are the ones we commonly keep imported from the pacific islands in the early days. Cheers

Collective wisdom has it that the greater percentage of our captive stocks can trace their lineage back to birds trapped out of New Guinea.
