The blue Gouldian I've been having so much trouble with is still ailing while the other birds are doing quite well. Today he has one eye completely shut. Even when held in my hand (he's easy to catch) the eye seems sealed shut, with the lower lid coming up and appearing to be neatly stuck in place. It does not budge at all.

However, I can see an apparently normal eye moving underneath the lid. There's no swelling or discharge anywhere on his eyes or face. His other eye looks completely normal and healthy.

What might cause such a thing? I've never seen this before.

Cancel that. It's open again. Looks completely normal! :?:

This little bird certainly has been a challenge for you . Glad his eye has opened , may have just been a build up of gunk overnight which he has neglected to clean off as normal birds would do .

As frail as this bird seems he sure is hanging in there ,once again all the best with him .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.
