This has been the big news in Victoria over the last few weeks, lots of birds being stolen

More than 300 exotic birds have been stolen from private aviaries around Melbourne in the past three weeks.
Police says the birds, which include macaws, parrots and finches, are valued at more than $60,000.
Police believe the burglar hit three properties in Melbourne's southeast - at Cannons Creek, Devon Meadows and Pakenham Upper - between December 18 and January 6 in the early-morning hours.
They want to speak to the owner of a late 90s or early 2000s maroon or dark orange Holden Commodore sedan that was seen at the time of the Cannons Creek and the Devon Meadows robberies.

was just about to post this, my oldman rang me today saying he saw something on 7 news about birds being knocked off.
remember people, be cautious about buyers and letting them in your properties, get names, addresses, phone numbers, car description and rego's, pad lock your aviaries, install security, buy a dog etc....
hope they catch these pricks!

That is just awful to hear!!
I hope they catch them!
We made sure as soon as we set up our aviaries that the doors were padlocked so no bugger could get in!!

the sad thing is they will still cut the locks if they want too.

I worry most about my dogs, as I would hate to think of what they would possibly do to a dog who tries to stop them getting into the yard!!!
Maybe we should electrify around the tops of our fences.......... Hahahaha

Bad stuff goes on all the time and we dont always hear about it .
Fella here in town had all his birds poisoned a while back , he felt bad because he didnt have locks but the reality is if they want to get in they will cut locks or even wire .
Cannot imagine the grief it would cause , at least a car thats stolen is a worry but the fear that the birds are being treated right would break your heart .
Must be a big demand if the number of stolen birds is on the rise ...very scary indeed.
