Ever wondered what would Marcus Pollard import into Tassie if he was allowed? Read his Red-eared Firetail submission. I've no idea how well it was received - maybe he can tell us?

Great submission and combined with Greg's constructive criticism, should be of great assistance to anyone contemplating the daunting task of dealing with a bureaucracy

For instance . . I would never have thought of pointing out (among other things) that REF's lack of sharp talons and a tearing beak presented no dangers to humans

I remember naturalist Harry Butler saying a long time ago, that dealing with government departments was like banging your head against a cotton-wool wall . . . You sometimes felt that you were getting somewhere when banging your head against a brick wall

Sorry to say this, but does being the Devils advocate really help the situation.
All I know is it gives ammunition to those anti every thing type people, your comments now are on Google etc for those doing research
in the future.
It is hard enough fighting these people without helping them, and there are people still working to ease the pressure on our hobby.

Apologies all - I forgot that avicultural protagonists aren't the only ones that can use search engines to find what they are after so I've taken my comments down. I do wish Marcus well with his submission as it offer overwhelmingly powerful arguments for the import of the red-eared fire tail into Tasmania.
