Hi all I just want to know how old must a budgie be before they are ready to start breeding ?

Depends on the sex and the individual. But in general 1 year for a hen and 10 months for a cock.

OOps maybe I should explain that a bit better. The bird may be ready to breed sooner. But it is best to not allow nests to be available sooner. Cause as we all know 13 year olds can but would you want yours too?? Don't breed budgies myself. but mother has been breeding them for 50yrs.

I have another question once the hen has laid the eggs how long does it take for them to hatch ?

18 days to hatch. Most budgies start sitting as soon as they lay the first egg so the chicks hatch over a period of a few days.
