Whistle like a canary

Have you ever had a budgie that whistle like a canary ? I have a pair of budgies
in a breeding cage and the cock bird whistles like one , has any one else had a budgie
that does this ? I guess his ready to mate ?

Some Budgies are great mimics. Is there a canary or songbird nearby that he can hear and imitate? If he is ready to pair his nostril area will be very blue. And the hens will be very brown if she is ready. They will also be preening each other, and if very ready he will be feeding her. Budgies need greens to successfully raise chicks too.

Thanks for that finchbreeder, their isn't any other birds around for him to imitate.
But its nice to hear him sing.
