Do painteds spend a lot more time hanging out on the aviary floor than other finch breeds?

I have a pair but the male is an old dude and I worry about him getting a chill.

(There is a a lightbulb they can perch near for warmth if they want to in the aviary.)

They spend a huge amount of time on the floor. Young will stay on the floor for a few days after fledging, and adults will forage around on the ground very often.

phew that is a relief spanna - thanks for that - never had them before so wasn't sure if it was normal or not.
